We’re looking for a protection geek to join our team, we are all kind of geeky, in a nice way. We are dedicated to helping advisers have better information, improving the quality of protection advice and making it easier for consumers to get the insurance they need. We want someone who loves getting into the detail about why one contract is better for a client than another.

You will have a precise eye for detail and also really like working with technology. Excellent numerical and grammatical skills are essential because in a short period of time we will have you writing extensively; sharing your knowledge with advisers and helping make it easier for more advisers, including wealth managers and mortgage advisers, who don’t always offer protection to make it a core part of their business so we can help fill the protection gap.

You are going to have at least two years experience as a dedicated protection paraplanner or a longer period working in another adviser support role specialising in protection.

As part of our team you will have a key role in helping insurers understand how they can improve their products and technology so they are better for consumers and advisers. You will also work with other software companies to help them work with our market leading research, which is significantly more robust and detailed than anything else out there. Most importantly you will be part of a team dedicated to helping advisers give more and better protection advice.

The successful applicant will, within a couple of years, become one of the most influential people in the UK life insurance industry, with an encyclopaedic knowledge of how to make protection better. You will also be examining life insurance products from around the world as part of our international expansion in 2019.

We work hard because we are passionate about what we do, but changing the (protection) world is fun too. Lots of awesome things are going to be happening at FTRC in 2019 including enhancing our software to make it even easier for advisers to compare products and give advice, and launching our service internationally, so it is an excellent time to join our team if you want to achieve great things.

Salary? We will come up with the right package for the right person, plus the other benefits stuff like 5 weeks holiday (plus public holidays), Group IP cover and other perks. We even give you software to keep all your personal passwords safe.

FTRC is an equal geek employer. We don’t care where you come from, if you are a boy, girl or even if prefer another designation. We want your brain together with your passion for helping people and for doing a great job!

So here is the reward bit. If you can introduce us to someone we hire for this role we will pay you £1,000 when they start, or if it is you that joins the team it will be a starting bonus in your first pay cheque so if you know someone or want to apply yourself contact us to arrange an initial discussion (if applying in person, please also send your CV and a personal statement outlining why you believe you are right for the role to ian.mckenna@ftrc.co.uk).

Oh and recruitment agencies, yes we would love to pay your vast fees for throwing any old CV at us hoping you get lucky. All we ask is that in return you pay us our hourly charge rates, starting at £150 per hour for any time spent interviewing candidates we don’t employ. Thanks Mr Lang Cat for that idea.
